PlanPerfect, Inc.
Modest beginnings… It was 1984. I was filing tax management guides for an accounting firm in Century City for $5/hour. In the same suite was a pension administration company (TPA). The owner of the TPA, Tony Delfino, said, “How would you like to work for us?” We’ll pay you $10/hour.” That was a big deal for a UCLA student back then. I didn’t know it yet, but I’d been “discovered” – not exactly as glamorous as Joan Rivers being discovered by Johnny Carson, but still a legendary moment in my career!
Fast forward to 1997. Daily valuation / 401(k) Plans were just coming to the marketplace. Bruce, my husband, and I moved to the Riverdale section of the Bronx. I held several management and sales positions with pension administration firms, developing key relationships with Charles Schwab & Co., MG Trust, Nationwide and others. And meanwhile, we had two kids–Jordan and Zach.
In November 2008, Tony and I formed PlanPerfect. We wanted to build a boutique firm, a nimble, responsive practice that enabled us to stay in direct touch with our clientele–not a massive bureaucracy like the DMV. One where we could solve complicated design and compliance problems, translating issues into everyday language our clients could understand.
In August, 2014 our family relocated back to California. Sadly, Tony passed that same month. Today, PlanPerfect continues our mission: to maximize tax deductions, increase wealth, manage employee costs, and provide peace of mind for our clients.
I’m a UCLA alumni and a proud member of the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA), Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO), and Provisors. I’m also a masters-level swimmer and a breast cancer survivor with a no-nonsense, but humorous, outlook on life.
P.S. Bruce and I are still together (happily, most days!) Jordan and Zach, now teenagers, are eating us out of house & home! Glad there’s a Costco nearby.
